AMD Treadripper 1920X 3.5 GHz 12-core in an MSI X399 Gaming Pro ATX motherboard with 128 Gb Corsair Vengeance RGB, couple of TB SSD recently upgraded to 4 ASUS RTX 2080 TI GPUs all water-cooled in a single loop with a slim 360 rad and a XE 360 rad, all EK gear, housed in a Thermaltake Level 20 HT snow housing.
While you could game on this, this is data mining for data processing and machine learning applications, e.g. running inference of up to 4 different neural networks at the same time, training larger neural networks on multiple GPUs. The system runs on the latest Ubuntu with Cuda 11 and happily sucks 11 A out of the power grid when fully loaded. The cooling loop keeps the GPUs and CPU at 60C under full load. Installation and bleeding of the 4 GPUs connected with the EK-Scalar Quad in the vertical configuration was a bit of a challenge, as well as the installation of a 1600W power supply. But that is a Thermaltake HT issue. The system is running well.
