Antec Throwback

This build was put together for a quick flip with some cheap used parts I found on Craigslist, Facebook, and /r/hardwareswap. It's a blend of new/used parts but for under $200, this PC games at 1080p pretty well and I still have room for some profit. Here's the breakdown.

CPU / Motherboard - A seller just pulled this out of their garage and listed this combo for $50 on craigslist. It was a bit of a risk to pick up this untested hardware, but I talked the seller down to $35 and couldn't pass up the potential value. I brought it home and immediately tested the OC and got it up to 3.7Ghz easily. Since I was flipping this PC, I didn't try to push up to 3.8-4.0Ghz like I usually do, so I settled with 3.7Ghz to ensure stability for the next user.

CPU Cooler - Picked this up on Newegg for $20 new. Nothing special here, keeps temps cool and has blue LEDs. Even though this performs really well, I hate the aesthetics and would rather pick up a used liquid AIO or wait for the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition to go on sale.

Ram - Just threw in some mixed DDR3 sticks I had lying around

SSD - $29 on Newegg when on sale, doesn't get much cheaper than this.

Video Card - There are lots of these 2GB GPU's of this caliber in my area for around $35-50. Glad I could finally pick one up and get some value out of it in this build.

Case - A local electronics recycler had like 20 of these for sale. Only two of them had a window so I picked up the one that was in the best condition. This case was actually a great deal, it came with 4x120mm fans (2 with blue leds), sata cables, and was in great condition when I picked it up.

Power Supply - The first used PSU I have bought, got it in a bundle from a user on reddit, and have no complaints. Pairs well with the GTX 770 as most modern cards don't need that much power, and for $25 I don't think it's a bad deal.

Case Fan - Picked up a cheap blue led fan from Amazon to stick on the side window. Looks great in pictures and I think the value add is definitely worth it.

Conclusion -

This PC was just another budget build with some old Antec parts that I wanted to use. I think the blue LED fans actually look pretty good considering how old this case was. Overall this build came together nicely for the price and I was able to flip it to someone that was gonna use it for CS:GO and Fortnite. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed my throwback to Antec.
