2019 H200 POWERHOUSE Build [9900k + 1080ti]

In November of 2018, I decided I was going to use my skills as a "Sale Hawk" and build a new powerhouse iTX gaming PC with all parts at their cheapest prices. I checked prices 3 to 5 times every single day for about 4 months and now it's finally done! I'll explain prices individually in the next section.

CPU: The i9-9900k typically sells for $524.99. I paid $483 by purchasing it from Rakuten during their "entire store 20% off" sale that they had back in January.

CPU Cooler: The Cooler Master ML240R RGB AIO typically sells for around $110. I bought it during an Amazon Flash Sale in December for $87.

Mobo: I got the Asus ROG Strix Z390-I motherboard from Amazon, using Amazon gift cards that I had received during the holiday season.

Memory: I bought the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2x8GB) sticks directly from Corsair's website during their Christmas sale. Paid $135

GPU: I was able to snag a 4 month old EVGA 1080ti from a seller on Ebay during the 20% off entire site sale back in November for only $530.

Storage: I bought the new Samsung 970 Evo Plus from Rakuten during a 15% off sale that was going on when the 970 Evo Plus first released. Got it for $119. As for the ADATA SU630 1TB SSD, I bought it from Amazon using gift cards I received during the holiday season.

Case: As for my case, the NZXT H200, I received it as a Christmas gift.

Power Supply: I bought my EVGA G3 750W Power Supply from Ebay when they had their "20% off everything" sale back in November. Paid $70 for it.

Case Fans: My Corsair LL120 3-pack + Lighting Node Pro Bundle was given to me as a Christmas gift. I originally received them in black. Returned and exchanged them for the White ones a few weeks later, once they released.

Lighting: I bought the Cablemod RGB/W Hybrid LEDs from Amazon with the rest of my holiday gift card balance.

GPU Backplate: Received as a birthday gift.

SSD Cover: Bought during V1 Tech's major 50% off sale. Paid only $24.

Custom Cablemod Cables: Bought these cables using my 20% off coupon that came with the motherboard. Also bought during their winter promotion that saved me $10. However, they took 8 weeks to arrive.

What an absolute nightmare of a build! I'll never build iTX again with this many accessories. It was well worth it, however!

ISSUES:
I love the look of this Z390-I motherboard, but I absolutely hated building in it. The M.2 Cover screws were completely locked on the board, forcing me to mount my 970 Evo Plus on the back of the board. I tried several tiny screwdrivers which all fit, but weren't able to budge the screws. They eventually stripped. I also hate the placement of the Front IO and USB 2.0 Header above the PCI-E lane. The GPU literally crushes the cables, but I managed to get them both in place. But, because of how tight everything is on this motherboard, I wasn't able to slide my custom GPU plate in there! So, I had to take my plate out to the garage for a little bit of work on the table saw. I cut out the top left corner of the plate so that it could lay on top of the GPU without being obstructed by the bottom of the board's IO shield.

The H200 case looks amazing and fits my aesthetic perfectly, but there just isn't enough room for cables in the back and in the power supply basement. I should have ordered shorter custom Cablemod cables. Just with those cables alone, I had very little room to work with to hook up my Commander Pro and all my LL120 Fans.
