For this build I wanted to go as clean as possible, so the upcoming trend of tempered glass cases in 2017 came in very handy. I always apreciated the design language of the Lian Li cases, so a new enclosure for the project was found soon in their catalogue.
I started the build in the beginning of 2018. Since I'm on a monthly limited budget, I decided to build it as a project over time. So I was going with some discount deals ordering my parts. I started out with the ASUS ROG Strix Z370-F mainboard, wich I got surprisingly cheap on amazon, followed by the Intel i7-8700K CPU, G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB-Kit RAM and the Lian Li PC-O11WX case. For cooling I went with the upgradeable Alphacool Eisbaer 360. At this point I started the assembly, reusing my old Enermax Platimax 750W PSU and EVGA GTX960 GPU.
Due to the absolute ridiculous GPU price hike in 2018, the first upgrade were simply a set of Enermax T.B. RGB fans, wich I unfortunately had to RMA later that year. The PSU got switched out to an Enermax MaxTytan 750W and finally the GPU got changed to a brand new ASUS Dual OC RTX 2080 in october. The Last update on the system was the completion of the custom watercooling loop, by adding an Alphacool Eisblock GPX-N Plexi Light to the GPU. Due to falling prices for RAM nowadays another 16GB-kit of memory will find its way in the system as soon as possible and finally complete the build.
