This build is just odd. It was born out of boredom and me liking the MetallicGear Neo lineup. I figured I wanted to build something inside the Neo G Mini, but when I had the case in my hands and piled up possible parts, I realized the only ITX stuff I had was a Zotac LGA775 motherboard, a Q9400 and a whole 4GB DDR2. So what, and I built it anyway. It's horribly unbalanced and too slow for modern games really, but it was fun to build and looks cool. The cooling is absolutely overkill for this CPU as well, it's an Eisbaer Solo with a 280mm radiator and 2x eloop 140 fans. Similarly the PSU at 750W and 80+ Gold. But here's where I figured at some point I'll get my hands on a beefier, more modern ITX combo, and then this stuff will come in handy. Plus again, it looks cool. At first I had an EVGA 780Ti SC in the system, but even with a mod vbios to undervolt the card as much as possible, it still blew too much heat into the case. The Neo G Mini sadly doesn't have any thought out fan exhaust, so 180W from the GPU is just too much. Then I settled on an ASUS GTX660 DC2 for a while, which worked just fine with its 120W or what it is. Recently I swapped in a vbios modded undervolted R9 285 Compact to see how it would fare in the case, and so far that is doing a good job as well. For the future I should probably get my hands on a DHE card, that seems to be the most sensible solution.
