Yet Another Build For Friend!
I was given a $1000 budget. Had to spend an extra $40 going to a 3600X because Microcenter was out of 3600s.
There were a couple needs that made this build challenging. More than 1TB of storage was a must, and a Nvidia GPU was requested (because my friend loves the Shadowplay videos I show off, and it's very easy to use). This generally hurts the price/performance ratio. However, the AMD's 5700 was $40-70 more at the time of purchase so the 1660ti was somewhat justified.
My personal need was not doing a build for a friend that had a 'risky' PSU. Bit overkill, but very safe and long lasting.
Overall, I think I gave a good combination of features and raw performance given the budget. The only major improvement could have been an AMD 5700.
I don't have the best pictures, or camera, but they show the important stuff!
