this was the first attempt. GPU was dead and the psu didnt fit the mainboard because HP :(
if you look closely you can see the board was changed out.
also i had to use the front panel form the hp case that i dont get any errors while booting.
finaly working. But i had struggle keeping the 8 ecc ram sticks cool.
The gpu you can see here is still in my shelf. a fully working gtx 295. maybe i will use this beauty in a future retro build.
aand it is finaly working like i wanted. needed to put in a second power supply becaufe of the extreme power draw of the gtx 780ti
backside.
yes integrated audio because i had all laying arround
thermal sensor and amperemeter
Workshop PC / Server
i know this configuration does not make a lot of sense but i had lots of fun building it. The base is a HP XW8600 workstation that means a dual xeon board socket 771. It also has a raid 5 array with 8 hdds each 1tb capacity. 32GB of ddr2 ram and of course watercooling. It took me i think 4 months to build this and it was a lot of pain in the ass because half of the stuff i bought was not or not properly working. It rocks win 10, server 2012 r2 and win XP. the hardware list is mostly not correct because this is realy funky hardware. if you have any questions feel free to ask.
