The Landlord. This quick build was made for a friend that needed a home work/HTPC build. The case was an old @antec vsk3000 that I cut off the bottom 15cm with a dremel. It's a compilation of some of my leftover parts, some PC mod work, and some new upgrades.
After I cut the bottom of the chassis off and riveted the old floor back on, I spray painted everything black, including the @noctua_at NF-A12 exhaust fan. I replaced the old motherboard with an @asrock_official Z390 ITX board and put in a new Intel i5 9600k. For RAM i put in my old @corsair vengeance RGB 32gb 3000mhz RAM.
I got some new case feet to lift it off the desk and a new button for the on off switch. The front panel is a floorboard that I hand cut the air vents with a dremel. My original plan was to spray this black as well, but I've been asked to leave it grey. The PSU is an EVGA 650w G3 Supernova gold top mounted.
The cables are an old set of @cablemod extensions (carbon) that I cut and re-pinned into short cables for the EVGA psu. I've found that the shorter the cables get the harder it is to make them look neat. I ended up having to bundle the 24 pin cable to make them look neat and tidy. The fans on the NZXT radiator are 140mm Noctua chromax.
I put in my old old ASUS GTX 780 DCU II. To check it still worked after sitting on my shelf for years, I took it apart and reapplied thermal paste and gave it a good clean. I ran it through the Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark on ultra settings for fun. It averaged about 15 FPS. Still a great looking card though and better than integrated graphics.
The old drive was a WD HDD Blue, I've upgraded it to a Samsung NVME m.2 drive.

This build was an opportunity for me to learn a bunch things I hadn't really done before. Painting, cutting, cables, working with steel etc. The build didn't really survive but it helped me with all the builds that came after.
