My First Happiness Build

I had been battling with depression for a little over half a year and have used gaming as a way of distracting and occupying my mind. Around December last year I started doing some research into building my own PC. I had zero knowledge of the PC world and starting researching everything piece by piece. During my research I then realized what an absolute horrible time I chose to build a PC as a lot of the main components were pretty being sold out within seconds, if even stocked at all.

I finally had put together my part list and started searching for the parts in stock. A week later I changed my entire parts list and went with a completely different build. So that was fun. My original build was with AMD and decided to go with an Intel build. It took me about a month to get all the parts (and then some)for my build. I will say my budget sky rocketed real quick with all the options and accessories, also underestimated the cost of some things.

After everything arrived I got about halfway through my build when the case I originally picked was literally about 20mm too small. Talk about heartbreak. I had to order a new case and start all over again. During this time I was dealing with a wave of depression and everything just sat on my kitchen table for about a week. I had completely lost interest and didn't want to even think about putting everything together a second time.

One day I just sucked it up and even though I didn't want to I persevered and started putting everything together. For my first build, having not very much knowledge on PC building, having some help from some amazing people online and YouTube I got it built. It was a very amazing feeling of accomplishment for me to complete this build.

I ran into a few problems, mainly me over thinking a lot of the wiring but over all it really wasn't that difficult. We won't talk about cable management, that was probably more of a pain than actually building the PC for me. I didn't want to go too crazy with RGB, I wanted enough to pop slightly, but not over do it. I was wanting to go with more of a rainbow aesthetic. (Also waiting on my matching 24 pin. This was an extension I had prior due to my previous case. The plug is at a right angle and the cords were completely out of view. So I had to order a matching 24 pin for this case since you can see it).

I titled this my first happiness build because since I have built this PC I look at it and feel happiness. It puts in a happy mood most days and has helped me in a lot of ways dealing and coping with my depression.
