I though I knew what I was doing
I like to build a new computer every 5 years or so. That being said I like to tell myself I know how to build a computer. Boy was I wrong. I must have rewired this system 10 times between figuring our something else I did wrong and had to redo everything.
Things that I realized too late
MSI MEG Z390 ACE:
The M.2 slot with a built in heat spreader. There are 2 screws under that heat spreader for different M.2 hard drive sizes. Just removing the screw from the shorter drive isn't enough, you need to remove the socket as well. This can not be done with a screwdriver. I had the best luck with a 5/32 socket.
There is only 1 JRAINBOW connector on the board, My fan controller and my case both needed access to that single JRAINBOW connector. Maybe more of an issue with the other parts but something I could have taken into consideration when choosing my parts.
Phanteks Evolv X :
That PSU shroud is completely unmovable. I know this is something that should be self evident, but if you ever need to get back to the PSU it is a very tight fit. My hands barely fit if I needed to get back in and adjust the cables for whatever reason. ( I needed to a lot because I am bad at this). There is very little room after installing a HDD under the PSU shroud for excess cableling to go. My shroud is stuffed with extra wires.
Thermaltake Floe Riing RGB 360 TT:
The hoses connecting the radiator to the pump/cooling block are too short to mount this radiator to the front of my case. like I had origionally planned. Again that is information that would have been helpful before I started.
