Glass Albatross - A labor of love
This is my first ever custom loop build! I went all out as this was a massive passion project I had wanted to do my entire life. I savored each moment - planning and building, cutting glass and sanding it down, measuring distances with calipers, tracking down one of the last silver In-Win 909's available worldwide and paying way too much for international shipping, squeezing an XL PSU into a place where regular sized PSU's go, accidentally cutting your fingers, and configuring the dang thing.
Planning time was around 3-4 months (mostly due to product availability constraints in late 2017). Build time was about 40 hours. Overclocking and configuring final settings took 3 weeks. I wanted to build a machine which had (a) no traditional hard drives, (b) enough cooling for SLI + heavy overclocking, and (c) used up most of the PCI-E lanes for my purposes. The primary usage is gaming and media creation (audio production, media encoding etc.).
The settings below are what I consider the overclock maximum for 24/7 use. Could push a tiny bit farther but starts to get unstable and generate exponentially more heat.
