EH "SCYLLA II" is a development project of EH "SCYLLA", which was established in 2019. We started work on the "SCYLLA II" project in 2022, but at that time the concept underwent several further modifications. Earlier art i9-12900K (SP 95 P) replaced with i9-12900KS (SP 108 P), Samsung DDR5 modules changed to SK Hynix modules. The lower 360/45 radiator was changed to 360/60 in a Push&Pull configuration, we added an additional D5 pump, and four side fans to bring cold air from outside the case to the center of the configuration. The LC improvement treatments translated into spectacular results. The setup is extremely quiet and the components are cool. For example, with PT 480W on the GPU, it's hard to break the 46C barrier on the core, even after a long time of full load on the card.
Although in the final phase of finalizing the project, the RTX 4090 slowly settled on the market, the current owner of the configuration decided to stay with the RTX 3090 variant, i.e. the proven design of the top Ampere, and change the GPU to the RTX 5090. The powerful GA102-300 is doing great in the resolution of 3440x1440p and DLDSR 5160x2160 100 Hz for which it is used. The i9-12900KS also remained unchanged despite the imminent launch of the i9-13900K at that time. After all, the top Alder, after appropriate adjustments, is in the top of the fastest CPUs in terms of driving the top GPU, and also emits much less heat to the system. The CPU needs only around 1.26v to run stable on the 5.2 / 41 / 44 profile, not only in games, of course, but also under full load during long-hour load tests. Generally, at the request of the person for whom the machine was created, it was important to stay with the Z690 EXTREME, i9-12900KS and RTX 3090 STRIX and four DDR5 modules. The material appeared on YT with a significant time slip, but it is known that each worklog appears sometimes and several months after the implementation of a given project :)
