"The HIVE" was created with machine learning in mind and support for over 90 micro cameras tracking bees in real time. This colossus, weighing 73 kg, is a real harvester that has become an integral element of the SMART Apiary project developed by the Smart Hive Technologies group. In order to implement this project, we combined both the knowledge and experience of Extreme Hardware and AD Venture Workstations, earlier such cooperation resulted in the "DEATH STAR" graphics station or the "MOTHERSHIP" autonomous cooling "set".

The tandem of two RTX 4090 working fully independently allows for huge performance for the purposes of effective machine learning necessary to implement the desired algorithms in the operation of an intelligent bee apiary. The precisely adjusted i9-13900K is responsible for the rapid execution of a number of instructions from the CPU, which are also important for the project and the effective synchronization of the whole. Fortunately, cutting the PCI-E 4.0 x16 lane to x8 (8x for each GPU) is not a problem for these applications. Originally, the config was to be equipped with as many as 4x RTX 4090, then HEDT would be necessary. However, as it turned out, betting on the Z790 and i9-13900K was the most pragmatic choice for this station. In addition to professional uses, "The HIVE" is sometimes also used for entertainment, where it naturally works great.

The memory controller in the CPU has a real challenge because the config is equipped with as much as 128 GB of DDR5 memory (4x32 GB). Thanks to the powerful ROG MAXIMUS Z790 EXTREME and a bit of luck in terms of IMC, the memory after precise adjustments works fully stably at 5600 MHz CL36.39.39.36 T2 G2 which is quite an achievement when using such a huge amount of DDR5 memory.

The LC system is two separate loops, 1x D5, 2x 360/60 + P&for the CPU system allows for many hours of continuous operation of the processor under full load and results in absolute silence and low temperatures not exceeding 82C on the hottest core with a CPU consumption of about 270W (100% CPU usage in renders).

The card loop is more powerful because it is armed with 2x 480/60 + P&and 3x D5. One D5 in a tube res, and a stand-alone D5 Revo Dual pump. We decided to take this direction to optimize both the performance of the highly restrictive (two blocks, several QDC) GPU system and security, as three pumps are better than one. The heat given off by two fully loaded RTX 4090 cards (even after OC) is not a challenge for such a powerful system. Around 950 RPM on the fans translates into silence, and the coolers remain lukewarm at most after many hours of work. It is hard to exceed the 55C range on the top (warmer) card. Both loops are equipped with quick connectors that allow for convenient replacement (no need to drain the liquid) of components if necessary.
