Castle themed black and silver build!

The name for this build came from a TV show called the Magicians but the original inspiration for this theme came from an artist I found online who specializes in black ink art and goes by the name Castlebasas. I loved the etching style I saw and his impressive portfolio of tattoos and fine art. His obsession with castles in particular passed onto me.

Since I was this doing for myself, I had plenty of time to research and make sure I'd end up with something I'd enjoy working and playing next to. Hours were spent before the balancing of decisions - what case to put everything in? RGB or none? Custom liquid cooling?

I wanted something that would look as good in the day as in the night. The result supports RGB lighting but is usually set to a white accent on the black and silver. It was important that I could easily upgrade this in the future since I like to push new release games to their limit with 4K and experiment with graphics technology. I decided to leave the custom liquid cooling loop for another build but found an AIO cooler that looks great and the shroud of the Founder's Edition GPU fits in really well. Finding the right case took a long time, I went back and forth on some cases and I generally find most PC cases don't suit my personal tastes. For this build I decided on a sleek but not too showy exterior in a compact ATX that still has the potential for dual GPUs in the future.

As well as looking good in any light, I wanted it to look good from any angle as much as possible so I painted attention to the fans, adding Phanteks fan frames on the bottom (the metal itself is nice enough without the RGB lighting!) and a Corsair logo fan grill on the rear. I find the Corsair sails logo to look similar to a castle outline. The custom-cut acrylic SSD covers match well with the rear fan grill, displaying their crescent moon in a mirror-like silver. More finishing touches include the custom sleeved black and silver striped GPU cable, the aluminum sign above the SSDs which shows off a sample of art from Castlebasas, and the 3D printed castle sitting inside the PC. Lastly, the build name is featured at the top under an LED strip to make this build especially memorable.
