With the launch of the Lian-Li pc-011 Dynamic case I got asked to MOD one for Computex 2018 in Taiwan... so I dit. Like always I go mental and try new crazy idea's... One of the things I wanted to try is if the case would be able to be dismantlement completely and rebuild but in BTX style, for those who don't know what BTX or reverse ATX means.. well in a nutshell the motherboard is upside down and the open side of the case is on the Left side of the case. This is still often used in cases like DELL and other brands but most manufactures do it ATX only anymore... to bad I think because BTX has the GPU blowers open side up and are located above the CPU and MOSFET so the massive heat of a SLI setup doesn't interfere with these components + it looks different and i like different :-). Another idea I had was to use NO active radiator just my stainless steel space tubing (I am still the only one that use these) as a passive cooling combined with 2 passive heat sinks. Combined with 4*120mm Bora fans there is a massive upwards airflow so all the heat sinks and tubing where cooled ambient temp... and guess what? It worked quite well : -) ... after 1 hour af gaming the temps didn't got higher then 60C so that wasn't that bad at all. It even dropped 5 degree when i ramped up the fans full speed. To gave the entire MOD a bit of a Nvidia style I custom painted the entire case in the original Nvidia green and made a custom reservoir with the Nvidia logo cnc milled into (ones again made bij Alex Banks... my man! ) I also used for the first time a small 3D printed tubing that was needed to print because the complexity of shape it was to hard to bend in PTEG and it worked as well!
I think the outcome was quit nice and had a very industrial look like... and of course the majority of people didn't see what was happening all there, they even thought i just turned the case upside down lol ... luckily there was Der8auer he immediately saw it and liked it. Good enough for me...
