When this PC was first built it had an i5-4670K, Asus Maximus VI Hero, and 16GB of DDR3 RAM. But even with it overclocked to 4.4GHz on all cores, it was still a 4 core chip that began to struggle with some modern games as the years went by. So my brother finally upgraded his PC's CPU to an i5-12600K, and its a massive improvement from what he was used to. But for him to be able to use that new CPU he also needed a new motherboard and later gen RAM. So he went with an ASRock Z690 PG Riptide and 16GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200MHz. Since the system already had a good cooler I was able to help him overclock the new i5 as well. Ended up with 5.0GHz on all P cores, and 4.0GHz on all E cores.
