I originally built this PC in 2019 in a Lian Li O11 Dynamic with 360 AIO and an enormous amount of case fans and RGB rainbow lighting.
I have been wanting to try air-cooling and specifically Noctua for a more silent build.
When I received my new RTX 3080 Tuf I thought the time was right.
(I did not overpay any scalpers for my new GPU)
Before rebuilding I did a few benchmarks with my old setup to see what the temperature difference would be.
My 9900K is set to 5,0ghz all core (1.31V, AVX 1) and my temps when looping Cinebench R20 was 87-90C with my old setup.
New build is virtually silent and after a few quick test my temps has so far been in the low 80s which is a big improvement when you also consider it is also much more quiet.
I decided on a standard NH-D15S and replaced the stock CPU fan with the new chromax black version.
Yes I could have bought the chromax black version of NH-D15S but I prefer the cooler in standard silver with black fan.
Edit: I added another NF-A15 fan to my CPU cooler and moved the rear exhaust fan to the top of the case.
