I´m into PC watercooling since ~ 20 years now and what I like most is the planing and building process. The used hardware isn´t so important. So I dedided to give some of my old hardware a new home.
- Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR3-1866 - 8x4GB
- XFX RX 6750 XT Qick with an Alphacool Block ... upgraded from a Vega64
... just completing the not listed parts.
I use an Aquaero 5 to control everything and made a few changes to the case. I added, for example, two 80mm intake fans at the top to cool the RAM. I think they fit pretty well. While building I got my hands on an upgrade GPU. And since the watercooling stuff is more expensive than the used hardware i thought ... why not!
The CPU is overclocked to 4,4 ghz using just 1.28 v. Together with the upgraded GPU it still run games in 1440p pretty descent.
It was pretty fun to build in Lian Li´s SUP01 ... just a little challenging to make a reasonable loop and make it look good. But that´s what makes watercooling interesting. It´s more than throwing parts together. Watertemp is ~ 10 c over ambient after 30 minutes in Timespy with fans running max. 1400 rpm. For a little "blingbling" I added two Lightstrips controlled by a Corsair Node Pro.
