Questionable Decisions

My first build!
Build Log :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bought used i5-6500 and Z170A M5
Bought new EVGA 750 G3, Cryorig M9i, Hitachi 7K3000, 2 x 16GB Vulcan DDR4-2400, and Asus VG248QE, D-Link DGS-108

Assembled to test for DOA. All fine
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Designed motherboard tray using Inkscape and online references
Home Depot run for custom case materials (wood planks, dowels, metal washers & nuts set, screws, screw rods, shelving brace, hacksaw)

Bought used Corsair Strafe
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Motherboard tray cut out of acrylic

Won Steelseries mouse from $5 raffle

Bought mPCIe to PCIe x1 adapter to use wifi card from laptop
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RMA'd Strafe due to repeating keys
Received RMA Strafe replacement

PSU and HDD frame made out of wood
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RMA'd Strafe replacement due to same issue
Second replacement works fine

Hit roadblock, can't find drill press to do ~half foot for coring out wooden dowel

For now, gave up on finishing the case
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bought used MSI Armor GTX 1080 off eBay
1080 arrived, massive artifacting, black screen, incorrect resolution, sent for RMA
RMA back, GPU installed
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bought new ADATA SSD, reinstalled Windows 10 and other programs onto it, HDD now used as archive/data storage

SSD inadequately cooled by CPU fan, reaches 60+ Celsius
Using a box fan to cool SSD, and also entire computer I guess
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bought additional 2 x 16GB Delta RBG DDR4-2400 due to 32 GB being inadequate for a statistics project
Color(s): Black Red
RGB Lighting? Yes
Theme: none
Cooling: Air Cooling
Size: ATX
Type: General Build
