Back again with another super cool project that is slightly different from the others!
This was a paid project for Intel with their new Alder Lake launch. It was specifically featured on their Intel Creator's Challenge live show on Twitch. It was the first ever live competition building a PC! Each builder was paired with a big streamer, and we were tasked with assembling the PC together on stream. It was a ton of fun, and I can't wait to see where that series goes for Intel! That being said, people enjoyed me teaching PC building so much that I will be starting a live teaching series soon!
Anyway, the build was something I tried to do slightly different from other builds. It was perceived in many different ways during the show, which is honestly exactly what I hope for each time. I'd like my builds to be subjective, and I think I nailed it!
I used the new Intel Core i9 12900k, Asus' new Maximus Z690 Hero, and Kingston's Fury DDR5 5200mhz, which I happened to waterblock as well since the ECC chip does get quite warm! The streamer I was paired with is a Roblox developer, on top of content creator so he needed some solid storage. I chose two 10TB WD_Black HDD's in Raid 10 for some redundancy and a 2TB NVMe. The GPU is of course the Strix 3080Ti with a Phanteks block, which was a perfect fit for the build aesthetic!
Noiseblocker came in clutch for the fans with their eLoop's, and XSPC's TX line radiators were perfect. You think 6 of them were enough? Ha! Watercool came in a provided some Heatkiller Tube reservoirs and the Heatkiller IV Pro which mated up quite nicely to the 12900k. The Maximus Hero has dual LGA 1200/1700 mounting so I didn't have to modify the block mounting bracket. Utilized EK's D5 pumps which do indeed flow a bit more than other D5 tops, and EK Torque rotary fittings paired up with Monsoon EV2 compression fittings.
To power all of this, I chose EVGA's 1300w P+ and CableMod came in supremely clutch with a custom configuration to match up with the color scheme of the build on such short notice!
