Made for gaming, some say I should have gone for an i7 770k instead of a i7 7700 for the overclocking capabilities and such but, in the games I mostly play such as rdr2 it’s mostly gpu bottle necked. Considered overclocking but my last gpu had this strange issue where the pc would crash with weird fragmentations in pixels very strange, so I’m a bit precarious.
Also the singular red ram stick, I bought that and it turned out the stick disallowed the pc to post so the two black ones were purchased while I spent weeks trying to contact Corsair, who even though I bought it on eBay, who thankfully gave me a stick that works perfectly. Not sure on it’s effect to all the dual channel stuff but seems to work fine for me.
The peripherals, I hated the thought of just sticking to one company I’d much rather just get the best equipment despite the company, so I just went for what was best except for the mouse mat that was quite an impulse purchase not sure if it was a good one to be honest. But all the others, the huntsman very good keyboard all around, the G502 nice and heavy which I like (unpopular opinion I hear) and the Arctic 5 great mic quality and high quality feeling ear cups.
Overall, fairly balanced build runs Forza Horizon 4 great on max settings with 80-90+FPS (honestly one of the best looking games out right now) for gta v and rdr2 gpu bottlenecked so in the case I could I would like to upgrade to some 20 series card. Whole setup bought partly used for £1,030 about 25% cheaper.
