PC Built for my fiance on a budget, only new parts are case, NVMe SSD and lighting.
I noticed that when playing Overwatch on the Xbox my fiance would get a lot of frame drops and screen tearing, so I decided she was due for an upgrade, but the budget would have to be small, the price of a new Xbox one X.
I did have to cheat a little to get everything for her build in price, I upgraded my own system from a B350 ryzen 1600 to an X370 Ryzen 2700, so I had the motherboard, cooler and CPU for "free". I had a leftover power supply too that was 80+ Gold so that was good to go in the system. I found a 1TB external hard drive and took it apart to add a bit of mass storage. I had some cable extensions lying around so that cleaned it up nicely.
The RAM I got from a Facebook market deal, 16GB for £80.
The GPU I got on ebay, a local pick up so a steal at £110.
The case was £45 on an offer from Overclockers UK.
NVMe was £65 from Amazon.
An extra pair of fans (Corsair ML120) went in the front of the case to improve airflow for £20.
Lighting strips and a fan frame cost £30.
I wasn't a fan of the lack of back plate so used a vertical GPU bracket that I got for £30.
In total the build cost £380, bellow the price of a new Xbox one X in many shops.
