#Neutron star

The neutron star, my current project, is my most ambitious project so far.
Custom made case, watercooling, blocks, controlling and Waterlevel sensing. Neutron star’s major parts are the left and right side, its core and foot. The Power supply is located in the foot – with enough space for a 1200W one. The core handles water and power routing. Cooling is taken care of by two 280mm radiators this time. Thats right! Smaller than Blackhole case with more cooling perfomance. On the left side motherboard and graphics card are located. Those will be cooled by an „All in one plate“ – AIOP Cooling i’m currently devloping.

As for the PC-Hadware parts, fixed parts are:

- Mainboard: ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming-ITX

I Chose this mainboard because of its layout, which is perfect for my project. Key aspects were: there is no nvme SSD disk on top (chipset is not obstructed by the SSD, power supply chips are only on top and it has a thunderbolt interface – which is more a nice to have.

I’m not sure what graphics card i will use, yet. Team green has more ray tracing performance, team red is the better choice when it comes in performance for the buck. So it will be either a RTX 3080 or a RX 6800XT.

The CPU will by a Ryzen 9 5950X.

For the parts of the Water Cooling i can’t produce myself i will take EKWB parts. Pump will be a classic LAING DDC – pwm controlled.

I will design my own water temperature controller since i had many trouble with existing ones from mainboard designers. I’m planning a temperature controller that is simple and easy to use. There might be three options: silent, normal, power. They can be choosen by using two pushbuttons: up and down. One slightliy bigger display or two or three small displays will show the most important stuff and what is going on in the water loop.

The microcontroller i’m planning to use is a PSoC5 Chip. It has a 32Bit single core cortex on it. That should have enough power.
