The build started roughly one year ago (feb 18) because I wanted to replace my then current system (i5-3570, 8G-DDR3, Sapphire Radeon HD7870, SanDisk Ultra II + 2 TB HDD).
The Ryzen 5 was chosen because I got a great deal for it, I threw out the old HDD since it became extremely loud and bought a second SSD (atm I have enough capacity left, so no need to upgrade).
Initially I intended to run the system with a GTX 970 but that died this year so I opted for a Vega 64 since I got it for cheap at work (under 270€ brand new), that's why I also had to change my PSU, the system would not boot with my old 650W bequiet one which was somewhat tragic since it would have been enough.. but hey.. moneys gotta burn, right :D
All other choices where purely made because of design, I didn't want RGB or a big ass tower since I think that's only distracting.
If anyone wonders, the keyboard and mouse are wireless because my PC is hooked up to a monitor and a TV at the same time, this way I can operate it comfortly from my couch (I don't like that integrated stuff my TV has).
